John Baptizes Yasha (Jesus)
John 1:26-34, Matthew 3:13-17
One day Yahweh (God) told John, “Upon the one that you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Spirit.”
It wasn’t long before Yasha (Jesus) came from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John refused to baptize Yasha, saying, “I have need to be baptized of you and here you come to me to be baptized.”
But Yasha said unto him, “Let it to be so now: for it is necessary for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John baptized Yasha. And when Yasha came up out of the water, the heavens were opened unto him, and John saw the Spirit of Yahweh descending like a dove, and lighting upon Yasha. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, listen to him” (Matthew 3:1-17).
The
next day, John saw Yasha coming unto him, and he said, “Behold the Lamb of
Yahweh, which takes away the sin of the world. This is the one that I told
you would come that is preferred before me: for he was before me.”
John was a witness that Yasha was the Son of Yahweh. He told the people, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it stayed upon Yasha. I wouldn’t have known that he was the Son of Yahweh if it wasn’t for the fact that Yahweh said, ‘Upon the one you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him is the one who will baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'”
Again the next day John and two of his disciples stood watching Yasha as he walked, and John said to them, “Look, the Lamb of Yahweh!” Then his two disciples that heard him left John and went and followed Yasha.
Many people in all of Judea and of Jerusalem came to John. Their hearts were ready for a change; they did not want to live according to their fleshly nature. As they confessed their sins, John baptized them in the Jordan River. John quickly became known as John the Baptizer.
