A Mouse in the House

I went into the bathroom

And there was a mouse.

He flipped and he fluttered

All over the house.

I wanted to scream,

But it was easy to see,

That poor little fellow

Was frightened of me.

I put the waste basket

Where he could run in,

And treated the little mouse

Like he was a friend.

Then I carried him outside,

Where all mice should stay,

And told that little creature

To be on his way.

But don't tell my husband,

I think he might say,

The old lady's gone batty,

And put me away.
