A Son in His Image

He has purposed by His Spirit

To bring forth a first-born son.

He has worked throughout the ages,

Completing what He first begun.

To reproduce in His own likeness,

A son to sit upon His throne;

To display a mighty glory

That this world has never known.

The world, with fears unspoken,

Bound in death's deep throes, await

To see this mighty wonder

When the ages consummate.

Come on Brother, join the battle,

The world is groaning in travail;

Waiting for the Son’s of glory

To step in behind the veil.

The birth-pains are getting stronger;

It seems there’s nothing but defeat,

But the time is fast approaching,

When full redemption’s made complete.

Full redemption of the body,

When from sin and death we’re free.

If our faith can grasp the promise,

Of the coming Jubilee.

Ephesians 4:11-13

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,

unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

Romans 8:19-23

"For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.

For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. And not only they,

but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves,

waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body."
