My Supplication

My Father, as I'm kneeling here before you,

Let my hungry soul be feasting on your love;

I'm human, so I need your power and strength, Lord,

Pour out your gracious blessings from above.

The earth is filled with trouble, strife and violence;

Cause me to stand until the battle's won.

Help me to never fear, nor fret, nor doubt you;

Give me sustaining grace until each day is done.

Implant your word deep within my troubled heart,

That it shall not be rooted out by fear, nor pain.

Let me release each earthly treasure, truthfully,

And find within each loss a greater gain.

Help me to never be in bondage to my nature;

Give me the strength to crucify my will,

And when all around me the storm is raging,

Help me ignore the wind, and trust you still.
