If I could have a wish come true,

There is one thing that I’d pursue,

To meet an angel here on earth,

Would fill my longing heart with mirth.

I know there are angels; unseen,

Holy ones that’s quite serene.

There’s one that helps me find my way,

And guards my path throughout the day.

It’s not unusual now to hear

That some bright angel did appear,

To help a person in distress,

With special powers that they possess.

I’m told that folks with simple fare,

Has had them visit unaware,

And sent the angel on his way,

And still don’t know until this day.

If I’m so loaded down with care

To entertain one unaware,

Have mercy, Lord, and this I pray,

Please, take my stony heart away.
