His Banner Over Me is Love

When pressures come to vex my soul

And it seems that I must stand alone,

When the sun is hid and my spirit’s cold,

With all supportive connections gone,

I find a solace in the Spirit of Truth.

When enemies are multiplied

And my friends can’t be found,

When I’ve failed in every method I tried,

When all my ideas has proved unsound,

I find peace in His mercy and grace.

When everything looks hopeless and bleak

And I feel a loss I can’t share

When my spirit is broken, my body weak

My strength is renewed through prayer,

I find strength in the Spirit of the Word.

When for the truth I take a stand

Alone I diligently search and seek,

When the enemy stands with contraband,

God hears the cries of the humble and weak.

His banner of loves covers me
