In This Alone

Oh Lord, I come to thee this hour,

And humbly seek thy face in prayer;

Your grace you give when I but ask,

And strength to faithfully do my task.

In mortal weakness, to thee I come,

As houseplants stretch to reach the sun;

In you alone, my strength I find,

My source, my courage, and peace of mind.

As a wretched sinner, to thee I come,

Thou receiveth me as your own son;

My heart, in awe, does worship now,

My tongue confesses, to Thee I bow.
