Moonlight Splendor
I was standing at the window
Bathed in the glow of soft moonlight;
Huge snowflakes were falling,
In the middle of the night.
Such enchanting scene of beauty
As mother earth was turning white;
T’ws a glorious transformation
When the pale moon lost her light.
But the street light in the church yard,
With its lesser light aglow,
Let me watch a cautious bunny
Hopping softly through the snow.
The still air white with snowflakes
Filled my heart with sheer delight.
A winter wonderland appearing;
It was a most amusing sight.
As I watched the master artist
Weave a blanket of pure white,
Giving rows of fur and holly
An iridescent glow last night.
And I felt His Spirit near me;
I was protected in His care,
As I watched in admiration
A great display of splendor there.
He so freely spread his etching,
Exhibiting it for me.
Treating me with grace and honor,
As an exalted royalty.
Should I not bow down and thank Him,
And let my great Creator know
That I appreciate the artwork,
His expedition in the snow?
