My Bunny Friend
I wish I could catch that bunny,
And stroke his soft fur with my hand.
Why he should be so scared of me,
Is very hard to understand.
I would stroke him very gently,
The way I always pet my cat;
I’d rub my nose on his cold nose,
And give his furry rump a pat.
If only he would be my friend,
And sometimes come to play with me;
I’d go outside and romp with him,
In the shade of the old oak tree.
