I thank God for the blessings

He bestows on us each day,

And especially for the seasons,

But my favorite time is May.

I thank him for the trees that bloom,

And the birds that work and sing;

The daffodils and hollyhocks,

And the nice warm days of spring.

The evening breeze, and sunny days,

The cool refreshing showers;

The variegated hillsides,

And the fields that’s filled with flowers.

The Windy days of March have passed;

The trees are dressed in green.

The earth was cleansed with April showers,

The air is fresh and clean.

All these things are dear to me,

And fills my heart with song;

I thank my mighty God for them,

And praise him all day long.
