“Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they,” Matthew 6:26?
Do you have a birdhouse at your home? Can you name different kinds of birds? Do you like to watch birds as they jump across the grass or fly from place to place? Yahweh made birds for us to enjoy. Birds also help keep bugs, worms and beetles under control. I have a story for you about a little girl named Sally and things that Yahweh created.
Grandpa and Creation
Sally lived in a beautiful big house in the country. Sally loved to play in her yard. But because she was only four years old, her mother wouldn't let her go into the meadow to play.
Sally's grandpa often sat with her while she played in the yard. Sometimes she sat beside him on the porch swing and Grandpa would tell her stories about Yahweh from the Bible. Sally loved Grandpa's stories. Her best times with Grandpa were when he told her stories from the Bible. Her favorite stories were about the creation. Do you know what the word “creation” means? It means when Yahweh made everything. Creation means to make something for the very first time. Now people can make an airplane or a kite. They can make cars and trucks and houses but before they can make anything, they have to have the material to make it with. What are cars and trucks made from? What is a kite or a toy airplane made out of? What are houses made from? It is necessary for us to have something to build with before we can make anything. All of these things have been created for us. All we do is change their forms. To create means to make it for the very first time and the creation was made by the power of Yahweh. Before Yahweh created it, there was not anything at all.
Yahweh created the birds. Before he made the birds there were no birds to sing or fly or to eat the bugs from our gardens. He loves the birds very much and takes care of them. He gave them feathers that lay close together to keep out the rain and cold. He created food for them to eat and places for them to build their nest to lay their eggs. He gave them understanding of how to build good solid nest and how to hunt for food. He gave them the knowledge to care for their babies just as he cares for them.
One day while Sally sat listening to Grandpa talk about the creation and how Yahweh cares for His creation she asked, “Grandpa does Yahweh love us as much as he does the birds?”
"Oh yes," said Grandpa, “Yahweh loves us even more. He calls us His children and he wants us to call Him Father. He is our heavenly Father. He takes care of us like a father cares for his children. You know how much Yahweh cares for the little birds and takes care of them? How much more do you think he loves and takes care of His very own children?" He chose us to be His children. He loves and cares for us. If we will listen to His word and do as He asks us to do, He will take care of us."
"Thank you Grandpa," Sally said as she kissed her Grandpa's cheek, “you are my favorite Grandpa. I like it when you tell me about Yahweh and how he created the birds to sing for us." Grandpa laughed, "I'm your only grandpa, so I have to be your favorite." Grandpa hugged Sally and took her by the hand. "You are my favorite Sally." Grandpa said and smiled down at her.
"Oh, Grandpa, I'm your only Sally! You have no other grandkids named Sally but me."
"Good," said Grandpa.
As Sally snuggled up close to Grandpa, he put his arms around her. Sally thought it was nice to sit with Grandpa and listen to the birds sing their happy songs.

Memory Verse
“And Yahweh said, let the waters bring forth abundantly
the moving creatures that hath life, and fowl that may
fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.”
Genesis 1:20
Genesis 1:1-31
First Day
Yahweh created the light and divided the light from the darkness.
Second Day
Yahweh put a firmament between the darkness and light and called it heaven.
Third Day
Yahweh made dry land appear and gathered all the waters together under the heaven and called them seas, and called the dry land earth.
The earth brought forth the grass, herbs, and all the trees. All the different types of plants and fruit trees were created on the third day.
Fourth Day
Yahweh created the sun, the moon, and the stars. The stars and the moon were created for the night and the sun was created for the day. They were created to divide the day from the night and for season, days, and years.
Fifth Day
Yahweh created the animals that lives in the water. All the sea shells, fish, and great whales were created on the fifth day. He also created the birds to fly in the heaven. Every kind of creature that swam in the sea or flew in the air was created on the fifth day.
Sixth Day
Yahweh created all the land animals on the sixth day; and the tiny little creatures that creep upon the earth were created on this day too.
The first human being was created on the sixth day as well. Yahweh called him Adam. Before Adam there wasn't anyone to take care of the earth. Yahweh told Adam to take care of the earth and have dominion over it and the animals. Did you know that Adam named all the animals?
All that Yahweh created was good.

Seventh Day
Yahweh rested on the Seventh day from all his work.
