Candlestick

Place your curser over the candle
to see that it means for us today.

The lamp stand was made of pure gold.
It was one piece of beaten gold.
It had seven branches coming off of one stem.

The Lamp Stand is also in the Holy Place on the left (south) side of the room. The Lamp Stand is called a candlestick in the Bible. But a candle uses wax and a wick to create light, while a lamp in those days used oil to give light. The Lamp Stand was the only light in the Holy Place. The priest had to keep plenty of oil in it to keep the light burning. The light was not supposed to ever go out.

Receiving the Holy Spirit is a type of the Feast of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Guide, and Teacher. The oil in the lamp is a type of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit manifests itself many ways in the church. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, goodness, meekness, gentleness, temperance, faith, and longsuffering. You can tell when the Holy Spirit is inside a person if they manifest the fruit of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit also gives gifts to help people, such as wisdom, knowledge, discernment, tongues, prophecy, interpretation, faith, miracles, healings of all kinds. All the gifts come from the same Spirit and is sent to bless all those who believe.

Find the gifts in the box below by placing your curser over the box.
