The Laver

Place your curser over the laver
to see what it means for us today
The Laver was the second and last piece of furniture in the Outer Court, made from the women's looking glasses.

The laver was made out of solid brass from the looking glasses of the women that stood around at the gate of the tabernacle. The priests were to wash their hands and feet with the water in the laver before they could enter the Holy Place, otherwise they would die.
The laver represents water baptism, which is an ordinance for us today. the SAVIOR was baptized by John the Baptist before he began his ministry. All of the SAVIOR's disciples were baptized also.
The first water baptism took place when the whole earth was covered with water during the flood. The Bible says the Israelites were baptized in the cloud and in the sea.

We are baptized into the SAVIOR's death when we go down into the water, and when we come up out of the water, we are raised up from the dead so we can walk in a new life as Christians.
When we study the Bible, it helps us to see what we are on the inside, just as mirror shows a person what he or she look like on the outside. Water is a type of the Word because if we obey the SAVIOR's Word, we will be cleansed from all our sins.
There are two types of baptism for us today. One is water baptism and the other one is being baptized in the Holy Spirit.

every one of you in the name of Yasha Christ for the
